Should be standard in all vans! June 27, 2014
Reviewer: Jason W. from Denver, CO United States
RMW's "Tank" is the bomb!  After my Subaru conversion, first the cap leaked several times. So, I tightened it real good, which made the cheesy plastic coolant bottle threads blow, so no cap would hold.   Oh and the brand new sensor leaked as well.  Again, probably a plastic threading issue.

This product is solid A+ construction as expected from RMW.  There is no way it is leaking - end of story!
- new sensor is super easy to wire-up
- the bracket is solid and the holes match perfectly with the regular VW coolant bottle bracket from RMW, so no re-drilling when you upgrade
- the package includes instructions and all the bolts necessary to install bracket to the van and the bottle to the bracket  (different from a previous person's review)
- the bottom nipple is std. size, so no weird reducing hose or adapter is needed.  Awesome!
- narrower than the VW bottle, so fits easier in the engine bay

Total install time (removing old & adding the Tank): ~2 hrs for a beginner mechanic

Alias Deserved June 24, 2014

You no longer get to see the coolant level just by looking at the tank. just have to rely on the gauge working or just pop the lid off. Other than that there is no way this thing would ever spring a leak. I had a buddy who blew an engine thanks to a cracked expansion tank which inspired me to get this baby.

The TANK!! February 21, 2014

I love this product, easy to install, looks great and hopefully is as tough as appears.  My only disappointment is that it did not come with new mounting screws to complete the look.

This tank is a TANK! February 18, 2014

I love this thing!

It's beautiful, and super-heavy-duty.  The mounting bracket is totally solid and beautifully finished. Even the mounting screws are gorgeous! The real, lever-equipped radiator cap made it really easy to bleed the cooling system.

I asked the guys at RMW for a diagram of their suggested coolant plumbing and it made installation easy.  This diagram ships with the hose kit, but I'm not sure if it ships with the tank (would be super-helpful if it did).

I'm doing a conversion on an originally air-cooled Vanagon.  I *greatly* prefer the level sensor The Tank comes with to an OE sensor.  Ring terminals are easier to come by than OE Vanagon coolant level sensor plugs.

This is yet another part that I wished I got when I started my conversion, vs. limping the last few thousand miles without it.
