Just what I needed March 21, 2017

After yet another leaking vw coolant tank, I found a way better tank.  Looks great, and is holding up way better than my last one for sure.

"The Tank" January 23, 2017
Reviewer: Ben Olson from Edgewater, CO United States
While my plastic reservoir was not cracked, I wanted to preemptively make the upgrade. The Tank arrived nicely packaged and was a quick install - perfect fit. The welds are a thing of beauty and it makes for an overall cleaner look in the engine bay, not to mention the peace of mind it provides.

Well Built Tank September 18, 2016
Reviewer: Gene Goff from Ridgway, CO United States
After hearing and reading stories of continual failures of the plastic tank, I decided, after the most recent failure of my plastic tank, to replace it with RMW's aluminum tank. Installation was easy with the provided bracket and we had no coolant problems on a weeklong camping trip around southern Colorado.

Paragraph 3 of the instructions are incorrect. They say to attach the spade connector (red) to the signal wire which is the green/blue striped wire and to crimp the eyelet (blue) to the brown ground wire. This should be reversed--the blade spade (blue) connector goes with the blue/green signal wire and the red eyelet connector goes to the brown ground wire.

The installed unit is a beauty to look at and while it costs a lot more than a plastic tank, I know my leaky tank days are behind me.

BUY THIS September 18, 2016

This tank is beautfiul.  Pretty easy to install, had a hiccup but it's expected with these vans.  My coolant line on the bottom was a different size than on top.  Had to rig up a funky adaptor with parts from ace.
But not having to worry about the plastic tank cracking is worth it's weight in gold.  I mean, can you really put a price tag on Peace of Mind?

Nice design: well built and sized appropriately September 1, 2016
Reviewer: Ben Cichowski from Bozeman, MT United States
I've burned through 3 plastic bottles (cracks each time on the curves due to thin areas created by vacuum forming) on my daily driver '87 Syncro. This aluminum pressure tank is a welcome addition.
'The Tank' is well built - nice welds and sized to accommodate just about any setup.
I have a Suby conversion with RMW gear, but I went with a coolant pipe from Hans which integrates the mounting bracket for the coolant bottle. The 'Stock" 2.1 Tank' from RMW fits perfectly with room to spare.
If you're just driving around in your van once in a while, you could probably get by with a stock plastic bottle. But, if you're taking long trips or you drive your van daily, I'd highly recommend this upgrade.
